Long established Daverns Bar was run by Don Davern TD in the 60’s. It was well known as a Fianna Fail house and we imagine the odd agreement/debate probably started off here. Ran by his wife Joan after his untimely death, she introduced Cashel to the toasted sandwich.

Wolfgang & Breda Stroms bought the bar in the early 80’s, Daverns was known as the stop off point between Dublin & Cork. A very popular local bar, it might be just as well the walls don’t speak!

In 2015 Dermot& Phil Delaney bought the bar and continued to operate it until covid hit.

Deciding to concentrate on just one of their premises, Baileys Hotel just down the street, the bar remained closed until a major renovation began. Taking over 2 years to do, the entire bar and house above it was gutted. What emerged is the modern, funky bar we now have. Specialising in cocktails and good food served well.
